Background and Biography:
Benjamin M. Hampstead, Ph.D. is an Associate Investigator (AI) in the Atlanta VA Medical Center's Rehabilitation Research and Development Center and is also an Instructor in the Division of Neuropsychology and Behavioral Health of the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at Emory University. Dr. Hampstead earned his doctorate in Clinical Psychology, with a Neuropsychology focus, from Drexel University. His research interests primarily focus on the neural substrates of learning and memory. As an AI, Dr. Hampstead will be examining the efficacy of cognitive rehabilitation in patients with various neurological injuries and diseases (e.g. traumatic brain injury, mild cognitive impairment) as measured both behaviorally and through functional magnetic resonance imaging.
