Background and Biography:
Claire S. Barnes, Ph.D., is a Research Health Scientist at the Rehabilitation Research and Development Center. She is also an Assistant Professor at Emory University School of Medicine in the Department of Ophthalmology, where she supervises the Electrophysiology Clinic. Dr. Barnes holds a B.Sc. in Physics and Math from McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario, and M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Physiology from the University of Toronto. She completed postdoctoral fellowships at Loyola University, Chicago, and the University of Chicago, and was an Instructor at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Her areas of research include inherited and acquired nightblinding disorders, eye movements, low vision, and colour vision. Dr. Barnes is a member of the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, and the International Society for Clinical Electrophysiology of Vision.
