Background and Biography:
Courtney D. Hall, P.T., Ph.D., is a Research Health Scientist in the Rehabilitation Research and Development Center. She is also an Assistant Professor at Emory University School of Medicine in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine. Dr. Hall holds a B.S. in Physical Therapy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She holds a M.S. in Exercise and Movement Science from Oregon University and a Ph.D. in Kinesiology from the University of Texas at Austin. She completed a post-doctoral fellowship at California State University, Fullerton with Dr. Debra Rose in community-based balance and mobility programs for older adults. She also completed a research fellowship at the Dizziness and Balance Center of Emory University with Dr. Susan Herdman. Her major areas of research are in age-related changes in balance control in both healthy and pathological aging and in rehabilitation methods for treating disorders of balance and dizziness. Her current projects involve treatment strategies for non-vestibular dizziness and the relationship between dual-task ability and fall risk in older individuals. Dr. Hall is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and Gerontological Society of America.
