I joined the Atlanta VAHC in September 2021 and the CVNR in 2023. I am part of the Department of Ophthalmology's Neuro-Ophthalmology Section. I am primarily research-focused, but I also see neuro-ophthalmology patients and consultations. I graduated summa cum laude from Fordham University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Natural Science. I then completed the combined MD/PhD program and an ophthalmology residency at SUNY Downstate Medical Center. After completing a two-year neuro-ophthalmology fellowship at the Emory Eye Center, I remained at Emory on a T32 Vision Science Training Grant.

My research interests focus on the interaction between intraocular pressure and intracranial pressure in papilledema and glaucoma and understanding the pathophysiology of papilledema development in idiopathic intracranial hypertension and the spaceflight-associated neuro-ocular syndrome. I am a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the North American Neuro-Ophthalmology Society, the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, and other professional organizations.

Research Interests:

  • Idiopathicintracranial hypertension (IIH)
  • Non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION)
  • Space flight-associated neuro-ocular syndrome (SANS)
  • Normal and low-tension glaucoma
